A Second Website for American Heritage Homes.

The first design we did in 2014 tackled many problems, but many years later, American Heritage Homes needed a new website that was more modern-looking and responsive—or mobile friendly.

This new website we built for American Heritage Homes was a huge leap, not only in design, but also capability, and gave them a better web presence across all types of devices.

The new website has a homepage slideshow, a robust photo gallery section, and a more versatile webform for home owners to place warranty service requests and scheduling.

As Technology Evolves, So Should Your Website.

Because technology moves fast, especially in these days, a website’s lifespan is now no more than 5-6 years. So in 2023, it was time to build the next evolution of the American Heritage Homes website.

When Bethany Warner, their fabulous Marketing Director, approached us she was looking for very specific upgrades and improvements to both design and content. One of the major changes would be to the floorplan page, splitting the them into two separate categories: Designer Collection and Simplified Collection. Both landing pages would have a more in-depth filtering system to help visitors find the home design that suits them best.

We would also build in the ability for them to collect email address leads on each Home Design/Floorplan page. If a visitor wanted to know the price of any given Home Design, then simply entering their email address into a small form field, would reveal the estimated price of each Floorplan.

Not Just More Content, But More Types of Content.

This new website needed to be more than just a few good photos and a contact form. Bethany and American Heritage Homes needed to include more Photo Galleries, Video Walkthroughs, Features, Vitual Tours. We set up this new content so not only would it be shown when viewing each individual Floorplan or Home Design, but also this same content could be shown on other landing pages.

Streamlining Content Creation.

As an example, if an exterior photo is uploaded on any given floorplan page, it could also be shown under the Exterior Photos Gallery page. This way, they wouldn’t have to upload them twice! Building a much more versatile website helps our clients save time by not having to do things multiple times. It might take us longer to build things this way, but in the end, it helps our clients work more efficiently.

Granular customization is not always necessary, but wow, it makes a difference.

Each website we build often has that one request we’ve never done before, and it is always fun to try and it figure out. Months after this new website went live, Bethany noticed the image buttons we had on each and every floorplan page showed a generic photo. Each of these images buttons: Photo Gallery, Video Walkthrough, Features, Virtual Tour—just showed the same photo on every floorplan page.

Because the images on these buttons were from different floorplans, she wanted the ability to customize each button image to be floorplan specific. So if a visitor was on the Cherry Creek floorplan page, the image buttons would show Cherry Creek only image buttons, or Belmont or Apple Valley, and so on. To do this, we added the ability in the back-end of the WordPress CMS so she can simply edit the buttons images, labels and what they link to.

Like a Custom-Built Home, We Build Custom Websites.

Not everyone needs this level of customization, but if you do, rest assured we have the knowledge to do it. Also, we take a common-sense approach to building things like this. We think: if we needed this ability for ourselves, how would we build it for ourselves? And we think that’s a major difference between us and other website designers and developers—we build systems the way we would want it built. Easy. Efficient. Simple. Flexible.
