About Us
If you’re better
than your competition
shouldn't
your
website
be better
than theirs?
What about us? We help show you’re more evolved than your competitors.
Otherwise, how will prospects understand why they should go with your company? That’s why we specialize in websites, advertising and marketing for companies that get their prospects’ attention in 5 seconds or less.
When your audience sees your website is more memorable than your competitors’ sites, it stands out in their minds. The websites we design are engaging, educational, if when appropriate, entertaining, appealing to your prospects’ confidence and trust in you.
Creating websites that play well with Google.
With an understanding of how Google works, we help you establish a site that attracts, and keeps, visitors engaged. Google’s algorithms are a complex, ever-changing ecosystem unto itself. We keep up on their algorithms in an effort to keep your website ranking well.
If the web design firm you’re working with (or considering working with) isn’t keeping up on Google’s algorithms, that should be a red flag. Because what you (or they) don’t know, will hurt your organic rankings.

SJ Sevell (aka: Sevell)
I grew up in New York City and attended college at the School of Visual Arts there. When I forged a letter from a doctor to get me out of an oil painting class for being “allergic to oil paints,” I accepted the fact that art school really wasn’t for me.
So started working in ad agencies around the city in entry level jobs, and found it to be so much more enjoyable than art school. Also, it helped my fatter was a freelance commercial artist working in the city who helped open doors for me.
Eventually, the thought of moving to California entered by my still relatively undeveloped mind. Might not have been one of the the most ingenious ideas I’d had, but was looking for something different and strike out on my own.
One my way westward, I stopped at Kent State in Ohio to visit a friend. It was then I enjoyed the college life I never had in NYC (since The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan was a commuter school). Being young and immature, I stayed at Kent for a while, surviving doing freelance work around northeastern Ohio.
I eventually found my way to Columbus when my friends graduated. It was there I met my other half, started a graphic design and advertising business, and never looked back. And never looked forward either, since I never did make it out to California.
When things go well you tend to hang around, so Columbus became home. Our business eventually morphed into a web design company, and we’ve even won some local and national awards. Over the years we’ve grown to love it here, become an active part of the community, and seen Columbus blossom into the metropolis it is today.

My whole life I wanted to be an artist. Just ask nearly all of my school teachers—they were the one’s telling me to focus and stop drawing. I never imagined all that doodling, and “not paying attention,” would lead me to my dream job—being a creative person for actual money!
College Experience
I graduated from CCAD (Columbus College of Art & Design) in Columbus, with a primary focus on Graphic Design and Advertising. Besides all the day-in and day-out creative aspects of going to such a school, I reveled in the excitement of competition. In nearly all of my classes, we would put our weekly or monthly projects up on the wall for critique and display. This was my opportunity to see where I failed, and I’ll admit it, who all I was better than. Every project, I wanted to blow out of the water, most unique, most creative, best execution. There were so many great artists in my classes, I was honestly just happy to be in the top 5.
Transition to Professional Career
From College almost straight to Sevell + Sevell, I freelanced at a few firms around Columbus, but then just months after graduating, I interviewed with Sevell, and have not left since, and now my name is in the company name. Many of my colleagues have moved around a lot over the years—different jobs, different cities, but when you work at a great place—why ever leave?!
I honestly detest talking about myself, I am self deprecating by nature, but if I had to brag, and clearly I am about to… I would say I am mostly self-taught, and I know how to hustle. Nothing was ever given to me, most of my life has been an up-hill battle filled with tons of failures, but I’ve learned from all of them. From teaching myself how to code, to now re-discovering my passion for painting and fine arts, my days are filled with constantly challenging myself. It is nearly impossible for me to settle for just “Okay” or even “Pretty Good”. Still to this day, my desire to hear the word “WOW!” is what truly fuels me—it’s what I live for, well, that and my amazing wife and daughter.
