MBIE transportation agency website.
The Mary McLeod-Bethune Intervention & Enrichment Center was an amazing, and challenging website to design and build. One of the most difficult hills to climb was the fact they had no website to begin with. So with very little to go off of – besides a couple of Zoom meetings, our experience and imagination – we were able to build a well-organized and beautiful website. (Obviously, modesty is not our strong suit, but we hope you’ll agree about how nice the website is.)
We just showed the amazing work they’re doing in their community.
Starting with very little to go off, we created a logo for them, did onsite photography and videography, and even branding, so this was an amazing experience for both MBIE – and us as well. The folks at MBIE could not be more patient and accommodating and trusting. They hand washed all of their vehicles so we could film and photograph them in all their pristine glory.
They also let us observe and photograph one of their longstanding programs, the local Senior’s “Yes We Can Program.” It was Bingo day when we were there, and we had a lot of fun filming the event and everyone there. Of course, we also did our best to not interrupt a very serious bingo game!
What sets this transit agency website apart.
We’ve built and created a lot of websites, and we’re always trying to bring something new to the table. We’re always trying to push boundaries even just a little from project to project. Building this site for MBIE was no different. Many times we have to create our videos using stock video or photography. But this time, we were able to drive up to Mansfield Ohio and shoot on-site.
This not only helped the look of the site with real photography and video, but also helped us truly understand what it is they do. Seeing the faces of the people they help everyday, helps us feel part of their program and how they better the lives of those in their community.
More than just an amazing homepage design.
We like to tell a story with our videos and we think we achieved that with theirs. When someone can understand exactly what MBIE does in the 30 seconds the video plays, we know we’ve done our job. Besides a vibrant homepage design and basic pages of the site, we also built them a “Request Transit” form, so folks can sign up for their transportation needs online.
Up until this point, “Request Transit” form was done manually, over the phone, with MBIE filling out a request on paper. Now that form is on their website, so they receive emails with all the information. The forms are also archived on their websites database. We also helped set them up with a “Donate” function, and the ability to create news articles and events.
What happens after the website launches.
We often provide video tutorials for our clients’ new websites that show them how to update their websites. This is beneficial if they don’t update their website often, or for others who will update their website but weren’t in on the initial training session.
Not that we don’t make ourselves available to assist with any other questions they might have. We’re proud of the fact we respond quickly when a client has a question or issue. Because keeping our clients happy is one of the things we do best.
