Recently, we were fortunate enough to be selected design and build the website for what is the largest group of Wendy's franchise owners from around the country: the OFFA Voice. (OFFA stands for "Old Fashioned Franchise Association.")

When we got the project, we knew we had to do something more than just a standard association website, because the businesspeople who would be using the site were sophisticated entrepreneurs. We knew they'd have connections to their friends who might also have businesses, and might be looking for web design from a Columbus web design firm.

We figured if we were able to impress the Wendy's franchise owners who were members of this association, we hoped the new website would be memorable enough to show it off to their friends and colleagues who might also need websites.

Of course, being a relatively new site, we haven't made any of those connections yet. However, the potential for those introductions did motivate us enough to design a website that was a little more unusual.

Go to the OFFA Voice website by clicking one of the screenshots, and to see how it moves. With a scroll of the mouse, we made the motion on the homepage go horizontally instead of vertically. So it's a pleasant surprise when you first start exploring the website.

We often look to other sites for inspiration when we're designing websites. And they don't even have to be websites within the industry we're working in. We often search within other, perhaps more creative industries. When getting inspiration for this website, we searched clothing websites, sports websites and music websites. Whichever it is, we try to put our own design spin on where the inspiration came from. This allows us to open up all kinds of new options.
