The Parker Lee Foundation is an Columbus-based non-profit raising money for Directions for Youth and other organizations that help kids in Columbus.
Every year, they round up 30 chili cooks from Central Ohio, and imbibe with hot dogs and cornbread, while watching in the Cleveland Brown game on the big screen at The Grandview Theater.
In addition to the food and excitement of seeing the game on the movie screen, the Grandview Theater is also a bar, with a fine selection of craft beers, plus a silent auction where you can bid on items using an app. So the event is very festive with beer and chili flowing.
Proceeds from Chili Bowl event benefits The Parker Lee Foundation's Eric J. Yavitch Scholarship Fund which provides $500 scholarships– per school year – to eligible high school seniors in the Directions For Youth & Families programs.
