Run a Google AdWord for a target audience of one.

This is a great idea, though unfortunately, we can't take credit for it.

The 1-minute video below shows how this Google-savvy "kid" in New York City, came up with an awesome idea to get a new job for himself. But the same approach could work for you, looking to connect with a new prospect.

This kid's theory was based on the fact that successful people Google themselves, out of curiosity, to see what is being said or written about them. Maybe see if articles about the awards they won are trending. So when these successful people Googled themselves, the very first result they saw was a message from this kid, to the person Googling themselves.

He picked 6 people (in this case, the creative directors in big ad agencies he wanted to connect with) and bought Google AdWords with their name in the title, a short phrase to pique their interest, and a link to this kid's website.

And the cost to buy an AdWord with someone's name in it, is literally pennies per click, because individual's names are not popular search terms. Maybe not names like Mick Jagger or Nikki Minaj, but the names of us commoners, who no one is trying to profit off, it's pennies.

Think how this might work for you. You certainly have a prospect you would love to talk to but doesn't know who the hell you are, and has never heard of your company.

Now, you might be thinking: "I don't want to wait for someone to have to Google themselves to have them find my website. That could be a long process. I want to get their attention NOW."
